Climate change measures dropped from NYS budget amid heavy lobbying

This past week bore witness to some of “the fiercest lobbying of the year” as 400 environmental groups and public health advocacy organizations battled Petroleum and Natural Gas Liquid groups for the future of the New York State Budget. Caught in the middle were the influential unions and the workers they support.

The battle hinges on the inclusion of advanced climate change measures which were not incorporated into this year’s state budget.
