New Yorkers are getting smart with energy-saving technology

Posted: December 4, 2018

Thanks to new thermostat technology, New Yorkers can maximize their energy savings while staying warm this winter.

Research shows that adding a smart thermostat can help residents save as much as $145 per year on their energy bills. Some utilities, including Con Edison, offer additional rebates to help customers save even more on their monthly bill.

Customers aren’t the only ones saving with smart thermostats. Because they can regulate the energy usage, smart thermostats help utilities by preventing excess use of energy during peak season.
