On Wednesday, November 15, New York AREA hosted its Annual Member Luncheon at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY. More than 75 members representing our partners in business and labor, as well as several elected officials, attended the event.
We were pleased to have New York State Senate Majority Leader John J. Flanagan as our keynote speaker for the event, and thank him for dedicating his time to our member reception. The leader said he had been shocked to hear of Indian Point’s closure when it was announced and stated that with the loss of 2,000 megawatts of reliable power, we need a replacement plan.
We were also proud to honor two of our most dedicated members with the Chairman’s Award: Thomas Carey, President of the Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body, and Al Samuels, President and CEO of the Rockland Business Association.
