National Fuel forecasts lower heating bills for 2019/2020 winter

New Yorkers can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their wallets will take a break this winter season.

National Fuel predicted a decrease in natural gas heating costs from November 2019 through March 2020, down from 14.7 percent from last winter.

“Several factors come into play for the lower-cost winter heating season forecast, including a decrease in the actual cost of the natural gas or the commodity price,” said Karen L. Merkel, spokesperson for National Fuel. “Our location to domestically-produced shale gas along with proximity to pipeline capacity to transport the gas provides an unprecedented economic advantage over other utilities across New York state and the U.S.”
