Environmentalist Norris McDonald Honored at Ebony Magazine’s 2012 Power 100 Gala

New York AREA member Norris McDonald, founder and president of the African American Environmentalist Association (AAEA), is one of Ebony Magazine’s 2012 Power 100.

“I am thrilled to be honored by Ebony Magazine for my work in the African American environmental community. My goal is to provide an African American perspective on environmental policies that directly impact communities of color,” said Mr. McDonald.

Mr. McDonald has provided a consistent voice for African Americans in the environmental community for more than 25 years.

Mr. McDonald was recognized for his decades of service with the Green Room Energy and Environmental Leadership Award. The Emerging Leaders in Energy & the Environment Network organization, which connects young African American professionals working in the energy and environmental sectors, praised Mr. McDonald’s efforts to increase equal job opportunities and educate low-income communities on environmental advances.
