City and State just published its Energy and Environment Power 50. The New York Affordable Reliable Electricity Alliance is pleased to report that our own Executive Director, Rob DiFrancesco, was named number 15. It’s a well-deserved accomplishment, as Rob has become one of the leading voices for sensible energy and environmental policies in New York. In addition to advocating for a sound and expedited decommissioning of Indian Point, Rob is outspoken about long-term energy planning in the state, including increasing our supply of natural gas, improving our energy distribution infrastructure, and applying common sense to renewable energy projects with local involvement in the siting of projects and power plants. We couldn’t be prouder – congratulations, Rob!
We would also like to congratulate long-time New York AREA advisory board member Gavin Donohue of the Independent Power Producers of New York (IPPNY) for being named to the list, as well as members John Mcavoy of Con Edison and Christopher Bakken of Entergy.
The annual list highlights the “50 key players in shaping New York energy policy” and New York AREA is proud to have a strong voice for our members to ensure abundant, reliable, affordable energy to power New York’s future.
