Article of Interest: State legislators want to take utility hike vote away from PSC

State Senator James Tedisco, a Republican, and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, a Democrat, last week announced that they’re introducing legislation that would give the final say on rate hikes to the state legislators rather than the Public Service Commission (PSC). A $331 million National Grid rate hike is currently before the PSC, which would lead to a roughly $17 annual increase to the average ratepayers’ electricity bills.
