Article of Interest: New York energy storage bill is just the first step

Earlier this month, Governor Cuomo signed an energy storage bill previously passed in the Senate and Assembly. This bill calls for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Department of Public Service to prioritize energy storage policies in the first quarter of 2018.

While this is good news for New Yorkers, many more steps must be taken to ensure reliable energy development, including updated infrastructure and the development of new energy sources to replace Indian Point in 2021.
